About Kedar Pandit

Making of the Music Maestro

Life as a Music Director

Kedar’s journey as a music director started at the early age of 14 when he was just in the 9th standard of his schooling. It was the time when his father had onboarded the project Varhadi Jhatka Puneri Phatka as a music director.

In the classic case of the curious mind, Kedar just picked up the scripts and composed two of the songs on it.

His father liked the tunes and showed them to the director of the film. The director too loved them and used them in the film, thus making Varhadi Jhatka Puneri Phatka Kedar’s first-ever stint as a music director.

And slowly he turned his course to music direction.

A love for the stage is something that mesmerizes you.
With every dialogue, every music beat, and every curtain drop, it teaches you to romanticize art.

Creating music for the soul!

Kedar then started composing music for cassettes, CDs, and many various albums.

He has composed music in various forms, for albums, films, animation films, TV serials, commercials, plays, and dance ballets too. His music features the spiritual genre as a major part.

Kedar’s music direction is all-encompassing, and he has also worked on light music, fusion, Gazals, Raps, and Bhavgeet. Like the Midas Touch, the power in his spiritual compositions is so that many stotras and mantras come alive with his music.

With several music albums spanning Hindi, Marathi, and Sanskrit, Kedar’s work is appreciated by many.

Shankar Mahadevan’s first-ever Marathi album Shravandhara was directed by Kedar Pandit, thus giving the audiences the treat of melodies.

Kedar composed the album Jiya Laage Na, to which Rekha Bharadwaj and Ustad Rashid Khan lent their voices. The album was a big hit, and also received awards. IRRA awarded Kedar Pandit Best Music Composer for this particular album.

With this, Kedar has also worked as a music composer and producer for a little over 650 albums for several leading companies like Times, Sony, Music Today, EMI, Big, Vale, Fountain, Wings, Venus, Universal, Peacock, Tips Music, Strum, Sa Re Ga Ma, etc.

Many of the spiritual albums produced by Times Music have been composed by Kedar, right from Gayatri to the Morning Mantras.
